Free weekly online research training for students, postgraduate researchers and early-career academics. Learn practical ways to use AI responsibly, develop stronger research questions, improve academic writing, find funding opportunities, strengthen proposals and increase research impact.
Organised by Afro-Technical Research Consortium.
Research is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence is reshaping research workflows, funding opportunities are competitive, and researchers increasingly need to demonstrate the value and impact of their work.
The Saturday Research Skills Lab is a free weekly training series organised by Afro-Technical Research Consortium. It is designed to help students, postgraduate researchers and early-career academics develop practical skills for their research journey.
Across 12 one-hour online sessions, participants will explore responsible AI-assisted research, literature reviews, academic writing, research proposal development, funding searches, grant applications, research impact, policy engagement, research integrity and international collaboration.
Each session combines practical instruction, examples, discussion and an actionable takeaway that participants can use in their own research.
The sessions are designed to be practical and accessible. Participants may register for individual sessions according to their interests, although regular attendance is encouraged.
The sessions are free, but advance registration is required.
Registration is being finalised. Confirmed sessions will appear here when they are ready to book.
